The wine list is entirely from Italy, which means it stretches itself beyond most restaurant's Italian selection of just Pinot Grigio. Open for lunch and dinner over 2 floors. >> Ask (Italian / Pizza) 16-19, Chapel St, Guildford, Surrey GU1 3UL, T: 01483 577027 Ask is a reliably good, but not pricey, pasta and pizza restaurant. Unlike many of the chains, they encourage you to tweak their recipes, so if you want a little extra of this, or less of that, or a different pasta - its absolutely fine. Overall, better than Pizza Express in our opinion. >> Bar Centro (Italian) 1c, Sydenham Rd, Guildford, Surrey GU1 3RT, T: 01483 302888 Good friendly service, and excellent Italian food. We have friends who think this is the best Italian restaurant in Guildford. Possibly the best in combination with value for money. >> Cambio Restaurant (Italian) 2- 4 South Hill, Guildford, Surrey, GU1 3SY, T: 01483 577702 Definitely the most expensive Italian restaurant in Guildford, and arguably the best. Everything about Cambio is upmarket, from the styling to the menu choices and the wine list. Great for a romantic night out, although some reports of 'sniffy' service. >> Carlos Trattoria (Italian) Newlands Corner, Shere Rd, Guildford, Surrey GU4 8SE, T: 01483 224180 Carlos Trattoria has been around for more than 20 years, and offers additional menus for kids as well as parties. >> Da Gennaro (Italian) 94, Woodbridge Rd, Guildford, Surrey GU1 4PY, T: 01483 452253 >> >> Dolce Vita (Italian) Trinity Gate, 14 Epsom Road, Guildford GU1 3JQ, T: 01483 511544 An unusual combination of a Spanish tapas bar on the ground floor, and an Italian/Mediterranean restaurant upstairs. Modern decor, good for parties.				>> Jamie's Italian (Italian) 13 Friary Street, Guildford, Surrey Jamie Oliver's Guildford restaurant offers rustic, simple dishes made from the best local and Italian ingredients. >> Olivetto Restaurant (Italian) 124, High St, Guildford, Surrey GU1 3HQ, T: 01483 563277 Olivetto is the sister restaurant to Olivo on Quarry Street. Good food, good service. >> Olivo Ristorante (Italian) 53, Quarry St, Guildford, Surrey GU1 3UA, T: 01483 303535 One of our favourites, Olivo is a cosy Italian restaurant tucked away down Quarry Street inside an Elizabethan timber framed house from the 1660s. When the weather is good they offer outdoor seating. We always have a good meal here. >> Pizza Express (Italian / Pizza) 237-241, High St, Guildford, Surrey GU1 3BJ, T: 01483 300122 Always reliable and great for families, Pizza Express is the original Italian chain of 'decent' pizza restaurants. The menu hasnt changed much over the years, but then its hard to beat a Veneziana Pizza and bottle of Peroni. >> Pizza Hut (Italian / Pizza) 12, North St, Guildford, Surrey GU1 4AF, T: 01483 300501 Pizza Hut is all about value and families. Lots of cheese, lots of topping. Not the best, but certainly the chain that brought pizza to Britain - from the USA >> Strada Guildford (Italian) 222 High St, Guildford, GU1 3JD, T: 01483 454455 Strada brings a modern style to traditional Italian food. The restaurant claims to use only the finest and freshest ingredients such as single vineyard extra virgin olive oil, Parma ham and Buffalo mozzarella imported from Italy. >> Zizzi's (Italian / Pizza) 274 High Street, Guildford, GU1 3JL, T: 01483 534747 Zizzi is yet another chain of Italian / Pizza restaurants - with good standard food. Comfortable restaurant, also suitable for children.
